Handheld computers (PDAs) are a good choice for testing
where a high degree of portability is needed. They are light and easy to
use, and they are relatively inexpensive. The screen size is adequate for
a broad range of tests, though for testing in the elderly or those with
poor eyesight this may be a limitation for some types of test.
All the core tests run on a PDA such as the Palm Tungsten E. The test
illustrated on the left is the arrow flanker
task. The response is a left
or right key press corresponding to the direction of the central
arrow.
